4. Jun 10,  · June 10, Report. edited over 5 years ago. On Thorns I lay is a mixed bag. Their first album was average with irritating vocals, and the later material is soft goth metal. This album, 'Orama' is to me, the best. And it is brilliant. It's a very atmospheric mix of southern european chill out ambient, and death /doom metal/traditional rock/5(34).

5. I was introduced to On Thorns I Lay through some songs from the "Orama" album, which I rather liked, reminding me of Septic Flesh. "Crystal Tears" is much less aggressive--in fact, the metal parts really play only a small role in the music/5(6).
