1. May 14,  · "Velvet Underground and Nico" is pretty much the only description you need of their Andy Warhol-produced album. Shocking at the time, this album is a dark tangle of S&M, drugs and the oddly sweet love ballad "I'll Be Your Mirror." Lou Reed sings on most songs, but ex-model Nico's thick, sultry vocals are what really stand out.

4. There will never be another album like The Velvet Underground and Nico. Never will there be an album that stabs you in the head repeatedly with its violent noise and death inducing claws of sonic devastation, only to be coupled with a gleaming sense of reality that went straight to the heart.
